Diagnostic Services

• CT Calcium Score
  A non-invasive CT scan of the coronary arteries without contrast dye, used to detect calcium buildup in the arteries. This test helps assess the future risk of coronary artery disease. Recommended for individuals over 40, those with a family history of heart disease, and patients with risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity, or smoking.
   
• Electrocardiogram (EKG)
  A simple, quick test that records the electrical activity of the heart to detect abnormalities such as an enlarged heart, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and causes of chest pain. Suitable for patients of all ages.
   
• Exercise Stress Test (Treadmill Test)
  An exercise test performed while walking or running on a treadmill to evaluate the heart’s response to physical exertion. It helps detect blocked coronary arteries, abnormal heart rhythms, and overall fitness. Recommended for patients with chest pain, shortness of breath, suspected coronary artery disease, or those preparing for surgery.
   
• Coronary CT Angiography (CTA Coronary)
  A high-speed CT scan performed with contrast dye injection to create detailed images of the coronary arteries. This test diagnoses blockages, narrowing, or congenital abnormalities, as well as calcium buildup and heart function. Recommended for patients with chest tightness, exertional shortness of breath, or suspected coronary artery disease.
   
• Coronary Angiogram (Cardiac Catheterization)
  A minimally invasive procedure performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory (cath lab). A catheter is inserted through the wrist or groin, and contrast dye is injected into the coronary arteries to obtain X-ray images. This test diagnoses blockages, evaluates severity, and is recommended for patients with suspected acute myocardial infarction or abnormal findings from prior tests (EKG, stress test, echocardiogram, or CT scan).
   
• Cardiac MRI
  A non-invasive imaging technique using high-resolution magnetic resonance technology to evaluate the structure and function of the heart. It can detect blocked arteries, scar tissue, blood clots, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, or heart failure.

 

Arrhythmia Center
Our Arrhythmia Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of irregular heart rhythms. Led by experienced cardiologists and supported by advanced technology, we provide complete care for patients with arrhythmia and related conditions.
At Vimut Hospital, our Arrhythmia Center is equipped with advanced tools and procedures, including:

• Tilt Table Test
  A diagnostic test using a tilt-adjustable table to evaluate causes of fainting. This condition often occurs when the autonomic nervous system malfunctions, causing the heart rate to slow, blood vessels to dilate, blood pressure to drop, and reduced blood flow to the brain, leading to fainting.
   
• Electrophysiology Study (EPS) & Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
  EPS evaluates the heart’s electrical signals and pathways to diagnose the source of abnormal rhythms. RFA is used to treat arrhythmias by precisely targeting and eliminating abnormal electrical circuits in the heart.
   
• Electrical Cardioversion
  A short procedure performed under anesthesia in which electrodes are placed on the chest to record the heart’s rhythm. An electric shock is delivered to restore normal rhythm. This is an effective treatment for atrial fibrillation when medications are unable to control the condition. The patient feels no pain and has no memory of the procedure.
   
• Pacemaker or Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) Implantation
  A surgical procedure to implant an electronic device that helps regulate the heart rate and restore normal rhythm, enabling patients to return to daily life. The procedure is performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory under anesthesia. The device includes a battery and computerized pulse generator, along with electrical leads placed inside the heart. 

Advanced Technology & Equipment

• Electrocardiogram (EKG)
  Records the heart’s electrical activity to detect abnormalities such as arrhythmias, heart enlargement, coronary artery disease, or causes of chest pain. A quick, non-invasive test for all ages.
   
• Echocardiogram
  An ultrasound of the heart using a transducer placed on the chest. It provides moving images of the heart, showing size, pumping function, valve abnormalities, and chamber pressures. Recommended for patients with suspected coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmia, valve disease, or pre-operative assessment.
   
• Holter Monitor
  A portable device worn for 24 hours to continuously record heart rhythms. It helps diagnose arrhythmias in patients with palpitations, fainting episodes, stroke from suspected arrhythmia, or daily symptoms.
   
• Exercise Stress Test (Treadmill)
  Evaluates the heart’s response to exercise and detects coronary artery narrowing or arrhythmia. Also useful in assessing physical fitness and surgical readiness.
   
• Coronary CT Angiography (CTA Coronary)
  Provides high-resolution imaging of coronary arteries using CT scan with contrast injection. Detects blockages, calcium buildup, and congenital abnormalities.
